I support writers, theatre-makers and creatives to shape their stories and develop work with clarity, structure and confidence.

ABOUT

I am a director, writer and dramaturg who has directed shows at the Bristol Old Vic, Tobacco Factory and The Roundhouse. I am an associate director of The Invisible Circus and have directed many of their shows, as well as working as an assistant and associate director with Sally Cookson and Tom Morris.

As a writer I was part of the 2021 Royal Court Writers Group, and was recently shortlisted for the Women in Theatre Lab 2024 cohort. My latest play The Pig is in development after receiving ACE funding for an R and D last Autumn, and I am a script reader for The Finborough Theatre and Theatre 503.

I have a Masters degree with distinction in Text and Performance from Birkbeck College and RADA and studied at Ecole de Phillippe Gaulier in Paris.

I have run devising workshops at the Roundhouse and Bristol Old Vic and now run The Devising and Dramaturgy Weekender workshops where participants explore different devising techniques, investigate structure and look at practical steps to birth new projects into the world.

I am interested in ensemble processes, co-creation and finding the extra ordinary.

“Sarah fostered a safe and extremely positive environment. She consistently facilitated check-ins with the cast while working so tremendously hard to put together the show. In the end she created a project that taught me so much and that I could take a lot of pride in.”

“Sarah creates and holds such a safe, positive & playful space. Ideas and performance seem to come easily when working with Sarah. It really was an absolutely wonderful and informative experience.”

“With such a strong & supportive facilitator anything is possible. Nothing you brought to the room was ever wrong. I felt validated and had the confidence to share ideas in the safe space that Sarah created.”
